I didn't want to believe the commentary about how "cleaned up" everyone's tv picture became after plugging this baby in, but I have to say its true. Even though I have yet to get my new plasma tv calibrated by a professional, you could see the difference immediately in the clarity of the picture. The simplicity of having a product "up on the shelf" to plug in all my stereo/ tv components coupled with the protection this provides makes recommending this product a no brainer.
Having the need to protect my equipment from surges and constant loss of electric, the Panamax M4300-PM 9-Outlet Home Theater Power Conditioner meet my need. I have a since of peace knowing my expense equipment is safe.
Even installing a signal amplifier didn't solve the issue. I got this to solve a very prominent low-level feedback hum coming through my TV and sound system speakers, and by running my cable line through this system, it fixed it. But taking those back and getting the Panamax in its place solved everything. No more *very annoying* hum. Also, I can really see an marked improvement in the quality of the picture and hear a difference in the sound, particularly with cable channels.Originally, I purchased the Monster HDP 1800 PowerCenter, but lost about one-third of my cable channels due to interference from the unit with the cable signal. According to Panamax, they have the lowest loss of cable signal in the industry (< 0.5 dB). Plus, the protection is superior. The unit has a convenient outlet and USB charging station on the front, and is also very nice looking--much nicer looking than the one I originally purchased in my opinion.Highly recommended.
Great product, all you will need for a power cleaner and fairly priced, Panamax's lowest priced and entry level power cleaner.
The M4300 is a breeze to set up and comes with enough plug-ins for a moderately sized home theater. Functionally, the M4300 is completely quiet. At the very least this unit gives me piece of mind. I bought my Panamax M4300-PM during a particularly bad spring and summer lightning storm season here in Virgina. To Panamax's credit the front display of the unit is very clean and the refresh rate of the wattage display isn't as distracting as similar Monster Cable Power Conditioners which in my experience are constantly adjusting the wattage display. The unit also features the requisite adapters for RG6, telephone and ethernet cables to completely protect the home theater.
The idea is to isolate each of the banks so that interference is not possible.
There are 2 power banks, one for high-current electronics such as HDTV, DVD, DVR, etc.
The knobs on the front are actually static, downward facing amber LEDs.
Call me a sucker or call me an A/V enthusiast but I firmly believe that the strength of one's home theater is only as good as the weakest link.
The front of the unit features an easy to read blue light display with the current wattage feeding into the unit.
and a separate bank for audio components.
Each has 4 plug-ins.
The main purpose is to illuminate A/V stacks in dark rooms without having to turn on a separate overhead light.
All in all I've been very pleased with the M4300 and look forward to continuous years of peace of mind even during those spring and summer storms.
